10 funds that sustained big losses in the first half
Volatility was the stock market’s most notable characteristic during the first half of 2018, as rising rates and trade tensions sent stocks careening. Mid-year readings show a mixed bag, with the Nasdaq Composite up 8.8% over the past six months, while the S&P 500 index managed to post a 2.3% gain and the Dow Jones industrials fell 1.8%.
Some funds saw even bigger losses, though. Following are some of the worst underperformers over the past six months.
